How to understand the identification results of the Jade Certificate

When you buy jade and jade, you can find one of the most effective ways to identify the authenticity of jade. It is to let the sales merchants issue the identification certificate of the national authority. The accreditation certificate of the national authority is quite accurate for the jade identification. It should be said that there are very few “missing goods”, even if there is a problem, the compensation can be pursued. The "important technology" that collectors are required to do is how to understand the various results on the certificate.

The jade certificate issued by the national authority is one of the results of the appraisal. If it is a natural A-car jade, the result is only the word "Jade", and the words "A goods" and "natural" are not marked. Please pay attention to the following aspects:

First, only natural A goods will be issued with a certificate of "Jade".

Second, if it is a B-car jade, the certificate will be marked with “Jade (Processing)”, “Jade (Glue)”, “Jade (B)” or “Jade (Optimized)”.

Third, C goods jade, will be marked "Jade (dyeing)."

Fourth, D goods jade, in the results of the certificate, there will be no "Jade", what is the substitute, the name of such substitutes, such as "artificial glass", "dyed quartzite", " "Jade jade", "Malay jade" and so on.

Fifth, the certificates should correspond one-to-one, that is, one certificate per piece, and the certificate should have the picture and weight of the item.

Although some things come from a piece of raw material, the appearance looks very similar, but the jade jewelry is not exactly the same. A certificate with a thing does not prove the quality of the whole batch. In order to save costs, some merchants only have one certificate as a sample. The goods on the photo are similar to the actual ones. This does not mean that the goods they sell are natural. This is not in line with national regulations.

Sixth, the basic physical, chemical, and optical characteristics of some jadeites should also be marked on the certificate.

Refractive index: 1.66 (this is the unique refractive index of jade itself which is different from other gemstones);

Density: 3.33 (also the characteristic distinguishing jade from other gemstones);

Magnification detection: fiber interweaving structure (this is a structure unique to jade);

Absorption spectrum: 437 nm absorption line (is the unique absorption spectrum of jade);

Filter check: no response (some dyed jade will turn red under the color filter);

Light: aggregate (emerald is a micro-mineral aggregate);

Fluorescence: None (some B products will have a fluorescent reaction after injection);

Appearance features: glass luster (some B products will have a waxy luster).

Finally, there must be a signature of the inspector, and the most important point is that there must be a stamp or anti-counterfeiting mark on the certificate.

The two most authoritative institutions in Beijing are the National Jewelry Quality Supervision and Inspection Center affiliated to the Ministry of Mines and the Beijing Gaode Jewelry Identification Institute affiliated to the former Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation. One thing to be reminded is that there are many companies that issue certificates that are not authoritative by national authorities. Such certificates may be discounted in terms of accuracy and authority. According to the No. 001 document of China Gemological Association in 2004, the results of nationwide sampling inspections show that there are at least 19 certificates issued by the appraisal agencies that have deliberately improved the diamond grade and identified quartzite as jade. Some of the appraisal agencies have more A large number of unqualified tests. These problems are not limited by the level of detection, but for the sake of some stakeholders, this is something that consumers must pay special attention to.
