Keqiao Textile Group participated in overseas exhibitions to seize the market along the “Belt and Road”

In the past two days, Zhejiang Huida Textile & Garment Co., Ltd. is preparing for the exhibition in Myanmar after more than one month. At present, more than 60 fabrics have been finalized. As a textile company with a focus on export, Huida Textile had sales of more than 20 million US dollars last year, mainly in the European and American markets. "Our sales in Myanmar only account for about 2% of the total. This trip to Myanmar will open up the market along the 'Belt and Road' in ASEAN and Africa." Wang Lihong, deputy general manager of the company, told the reporter.

As well as Huida Textile, there are more than 100 local textile companies in Keqiao. Keqiao District launched a series of activities “Globally, One Belt, One Road” to organize local enterprises in Keqiao to hold or participate in textile exhibitions in countries along the “Belt and Road”. The first stop is the 2017 Myanmar International Textile Exhibition and Zhejiang Import and Export Commodities (Myanmar) Fair, which will be held from December 8th to 10th this year. More than 150 booths are scheduled to be set up.

“Myanmar is now regarded as an emerging destination for garment and textile enterprises, but its textile industry has a weak foundation and low production levels. Most of its raw materials are imported from China, South Korea and other countries. It is estimated that the import volume from China can account for about 80%, and the market potential is huge. Zhang Xi'an, vice president of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles, told reporters that countries along the “Belt and Road” countries such as Vietnam and Cambodia also have large gaps in supply and demand in textile machinery, raw materials and fabrics. Keqiao textile enterprises should take the initiative to attack. Make full use of the advantages and seize the opportunities in emerging markets.

It is reported that after going to Myanmar for exhibiting, Keqiao District will also organize local enterprises to enter Pakistan, Bangladesh, Vietnam and other countries next year.
