In the pure polyester, pure wool, and pure mulberry silk fabrics, mulberry silk is the most easily stained, in particular when selecting protein fibers as a test sample, the mulberry silk fabric stain is particularly noticeable. It can be seen that light-colored silk garments should not be washed together with other dark-colored garments, and particularly not suitable for washing with dark-colored wool and mulberry silk fabrics. In addition, silk fabrics are relatively poor in lightfastness, abrasion resistance, and perspiration fastness.

The strength of silk clothing is poor and it is easy to split. Therefore, the national standard GB/T 18132-2008 “Silk Apparel” also has lower requirements for crushing than ordinary clothing.

In addition to the defects in color fastness and splitting performance, silk garments are easily deformed after being washed, and wear resistance and tear resistance are relatively poor.
