introducing the liesl + co. peckham women’s trousers sewing pattern
Hello everyone!
Today, I’m super excited to introduce you to the latest addition to our sewing patterns collection – the Peckham Women’s Trousers. This has been on my wishlist for quite some time now. These trousers are timeless classics with a modern twist. They feature a sleek zipper fly, slanted front pockets, classy welt back pockets, and a straight-leg design. What sets them apart is the unique waistband that stretches slightly, making them incredibly comfortable. Whether you're lounging at home or heading out for a night on the town, these trousers are designed to fit beautifully and feel amazing.
I absolutely adore how these trousers incorporate all the classic elements that make traditional trousers so iconic. There’s something about their simplicity that feels both practical and elegant. As someone who loves attention to detail, I can't help but rave about these features. Keep reading because I'll break down why I think these trousers are a must-have for your wardrobe.

This pattern is tailored for fabrics with a touch of stretch. To ensure maximum comfort, we’ve cleverly added elastic to the waistband near the side seams. This allows the waistband to expand gently when you need it to, ensuring the trousers remain flattering yet supremely comfortable. You can wear them casually at home or dress them up for work or special occasions. They’re versatile enough to transition from casual weekend vibes to office-appropriate attire without missing a beat. Honestly, I almost wanted to name them the "Go Anywhere Trousers" because they truly live up to that promise.
The pattern comes complete with a classic zipper fly and slanted front pockets, giving these trousers a polished yet approachable look.

As a fan of welt back pockets, I’m thrilled to include them in this design. They add that extra touch of sophistication without being over-the-top.

Even though I made this pair using a metallic jacquard fabric that lacks stretch, I highly recommend choosing a fabric with at least a little bit of give. It not only enhances comfort but also ensures the trousers maintain their shape and elegance. Trust me; you’ll appreciate the difference.

When it comes to styling and fabric choices, there are endless possibilities. A tropical-weight wool is an excellent option since it works across multiple seasons. It’s breathable, wrinkle-resistant, and gives off that professional yet approachable vibe. Cotton twill or a trouser-weight sateen would also be fantastic picks, especially for autumn and winter. The subtle textures of these fabrics add depth and interest to your wardrobe.

One thing I love about this pattern is its versatility. For instance, adding a soft pink stripe along the side seams gives these trousers a playful nod to the classic tuxedo stripe. Imagine it as a racing stripe – bold yet subtle. I’d love to show you how to do this someday, so stay tuned for a tutorial.

On the other hand, color-blocking can transform these trousers into something far less formal. Using leftover fabric scraps to create colorful panels adds a fun, modern twist. Plus, who doesn’t love a good pop of color?
Of course, don’t shy away from bold prints either! The black-and-white print below is a personal favorite of mine. If only I could find more fabrics like this, life would be perfect.
