Changsha Sex Expo in September held 700 pieces of cultural relics for the audience feast for the eyes
On the morning of September 9, a significant signature campaign titled "Caring for Life, Drug Control and AIDS Prevention to Create a Beautiful Life" took place at Changsha Broad Urological Hospital. Within just under an hour, over 100 enthusiastic citizens joined in. This large-scale event was organized by the Organizing Committee of the "Hunan Love 2009 Changsha Second Sexual Health Culture Expo."
Approved by the Hunan Provincial Population and Family Planning Commission, and co-hosted by organizations such as the Changsha Municipal Population and Family Planning Commission, the Changsha Narcotics Control Commission, and the China Sex Museum, the "Hunan Love 2009 Changsha Second Sexual Health and Culture Expo" is set to take place from September 17-26 at the Hongxing International Convention and Exhibition Center in Changsha.
Last year's "2008 Changsha First Sexual Health and Sexual Culture Expo," also held at the Hongxing International Convention and Exhibition Center, caused quite a stir in Changsha and sparked extensive public discussion. Incomplete statistics suggest that last year's expo attracted close to 100,000 visitors, drawing active participation from people across various sectors, achieving notable social benefits.
Building on the success of last year, the "Hunan Love 2009 Changsha Sex Expo" is themed around "Healthy Sexual Agencies in Hunan," with the mission of promoting healthy sex education and fostering a harmonious lifestyle. Covering an exhibition area of 5,000 square meters, the expo is divided into six major sections: family planning and anti-AIDS publicity image displays, ancient and modern Chinese and foreign sexual knowledge, cultural relic exhibitions, adult sex toys and sexual health product exhibitions, body art exhibitions, sexual health civilization book and publication exhibitions, and folk culture collections.
During the expo, five key events will be organized: first, seminars on sexual culture and sexual health hot topics; second, screenings of films on population planning, anti-AIDS, and anti-drug education; third, performances by sexy lingerie models, body painting artists, and Mei Mei pipe dancers; fourth, an award ceremony for visitors who participate in the exhibition; fifth, signature campaigns in schools and communities, along with the distribution of free family planning materials, anti-AIDS drugs, and related information.
According to Wang Zhihong, deputy director of the Organizing Committee, the committee traveled to the China Sex Museum in Shanghai to meticulously select over 700 cultural relics from both domestic and international sources, all of which are exceptional pieces. These items will showcase reproductive, anti-AIDS, anti-narcotics, and other relevant textual and image-based information, doubling the content from the previous year, allowing visitors to explore comprehensively. Additionally, various adult sex toys and sexual health products have drawn considerable interest from exhibitors. The conference has also adopted successful formats from fairs in Guangzhou and Kunming, introducing pole dancing, lingerie catwalks, and body painting as forms of artistic expression, which will highlight the show.
To encourage more citizens to visit the expo and promote the dissemination of scientific knowledge, this year’s expo offers discounted tickets priced at 10 yuan per person for college students, revolutionary soldiers, and holders of senior citizen cards.
As someone who attended the signature campaign, I was truly impressed by the level of enthusiasm and engagement from everyone present. It's heartening to see such efforts being made towards health education and awareness.
